Loss of strength due to higher temperatures
Technical data always refer to measurements at 20° C. At higher temperatures these values are reduced due to increasing softening:
| Residual strength at a temperature of | Soft PVC | Pre-PUR® | Pre-PUR® HT |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20° C | 100% | 100% | 100% |
| 30° C | 70% | 90% | 95% |
| 40° C | 50% | 80% | 90% |
| 50° C | 30% | 70% | 85% |
| 60° C | - | 50% | 75% |
| 70° C | - | 30% | 60% |
| 100° C | - | 20% | 40% |
| 125° C | - | 10% | 20% |
| 150° C | - | - | 10% |
These factors should be taken into account for loads in the overpressure range.
Example: Operating limit for PU material at 40° C:
ptol(40° C) = ptol(20° C) × 80 %
