New NORRES cable protection connectors provide increased reliability

Two new plastic cable protection connectors now further extend the already broad range of cable protection systems from NORRES Schlauchtechnik, Gelsenkirchen (Germany). Together with compatible cable protection conduits, the ADKK 180 M/P and ADKKH 181 connectors form a remarkably robust system that complies with even the toughest mechanical specification. Accidental loosening or slippage – even in the presence of extreme vibration or tensile forces – is no longer possible.

The ADKK 180 M/P and ADKKH 181 plastic connectors are distinguished by their remarkable robustness: once screwed into the compatible cable protection conduit, they form a system that is capable of withstanding very heavy loads. Accidental loosening or slippage of the connectors – even in the presence of extreme vibration or tensile forces – is no longer possible thanks to the self-locking tube assembly. In a tensile strength test, the ADKK 180 M/P and ADKKH 181 achieved > 120 N in all test runs – an unusually good result for one-piece connectors of this design. The test was performed on an ADKK 180 M/P and ADKKH 181, each with a WELLFLEX^® PUR 118, as a system comprised of a conduit with connectors fitted on both sides. The connectors were connected to the tensile tester, which measured the force necessary to pull out the conduit. The results confirmed that by integrating the ADKK 180 M/P and ADKKH 181 in a compatible system, it is possible to increase reliability and avoid unnecessary downtime.

The ADKKH 181 is particularly distinguished by its ability to turn in the mounting flange. The ADKK 180 M/P in metric or PG features a rotary connecting thread. Both connectors are consequently also extremely versatile.

The plastic connectors are easily and quickly fitted without special tools. The optimised, large inner diameter ensures simple retraction of the cables. An inner socket protects the cables from damage. The ADKK 180 M/P and ADKKH 181 are ideal for all strip-wound corrugated or smooth plastic conduits – especially the same company’s VDE approved WELLFLEX^® PVC 111 and PUR 118. Both connectors achieve protection up to IP54 according to EN / IEC 60529. Cables forming a system with the ADKK 180 M/P and ADKKH 181 are thus effectively protected against dust and spray. The new plastic connectors, which are made from PP, are flame-retardant and contain neither softeners nor halogens. They impress with their good resistance to chemicals, UV and ozone and are suitable for all temperatures from -10°C to +110°C.
