Sometimes a round hose just does not fit and an alternative shape is called for. For that reason NORRES Gelsenkirchen came out with a very special innovation: a rectangular hose for ventilation ducts. The hose can be supplied with a food-quality wall according to EU Directive 2002/72/EC including the latest amending Directive 2007/19/EC as well as flame-retardant to UL 94-HB, DIN 4102-B1 on request.
There are applications which are restricted in space and which are therefore especially suited for tricky or confined installation environments. A hose is needed which reaches corners which are inaccessible to common hoses. That doesn’t mean the request for a traditional round hose, but a rectangular hose. As one of the leading producers of hoses and hose systems the research and development department of NORRES attends to such customer needs and develops customer specific solutions. The outcome was two special rectangular hoses with different attributes. That way the rectangular TIMBERDUC® PUR 531 SE fulfils the security restrictions of the German Holz-BG and is flame-retardant to UL94-HB, DIN 4102-B1. The rectangular hose PROTAPE® PUR 331 MHF has a food-quality wall to FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and 178.2010, EU Directive 2002/72/EC including the latest amending Directive 2007/19/EC. Both types are space saving and are especially applicable to difficult applications.
The highly flexible and compressible rectangular hoses are applicable to ventilation ducts in commercial vehicles like busses, railcars and construction vehicles as well as air ducts in machines with inaccessible corners. The tape hoses have a spring steel wire integrated in wall with a wall thickness of 4.00 mm and are available in diameters 100 x 50 to 300 x 150 mm with a standard length of six meters. Further diameters and length are available on request. A further advantage for the user: The hoses are tape boxed and delivered compressed. This saves warehouse capacity and costs and the hoses stay undamaged by the tape. The rectangular hoses are microbe and hydrolysis resistant, halogen free and abrasion-proof. In addition they show a high tensile strength and tear resistance as well as a good resistance to mineral oils and chemicals. They are capable of electro-static discharge according to BGR 132, formerly ZH 1/200 by grounding the spiral.
